제 1과 한글을 배워요!

Have you heard about "Hangul"? What is "Hangul"?
To learn "Hangul" will be your very first step in learning how to read Korean.

The Korean alphabet is called "Hangul(한글)".

Through this chapter, you are going to learn the Korean alphabet.
The Hangul consists of 40 letters: 19 consonants and 21 vowel. That means you only need to remember 40 letters. Then you can read Korean easily.

Let's get started! First we are going to learn vowels.
There are 21 vowels in Hangul : 10 simple vowles and 11 compound vowels.

In this chapter, we will learn only 10 simple vowels.

 

The vowels are written from "top to bottom" and from the "left to right".

 

 

In this chapter, we learned how to read and write 10 simple vowels. We will continue to learn the rest of 11 compound and consonants in the next chapter.
